Downtown Cowboys.

Vale que Johnny Depp se codee con lobos cual sauvage en mitad del Lejano Oeste, pero que todo Dior se monte una película temática… no sé si pasa de castaño oscuro –o de bronceado tejano–. Maria Grazia Chiuri decide jugar a indios y vaqueros en su colección Resort 2018 con un despliegue de aventuras en medio del desierto. Y lo hace con todo lujo de clichés. ¿No es un poco tarde para un cuento tan viejo? Y mucho más aún si se recurre a tópicos estilísticos de fiesta de disfraces –compuestos a partir de, todo sea dicho, una colección nutrida de algunas prendas exquisitas y básicos perfectos–.

Cuando era un niño, en España lo dábamos todo con Coyote Dax y su “No Rompas Más”. Pistas de baile llenas de pre-adolescentes del nuevo milenio bailando una coreografía que nos sabíamos de pe a pa… eso sí que era digno de un cowboy contemporáneo. Nada de disfraces. Un buen sombrero vaquero y tejanos, las únicas referencias literales permitidas. La acción se trasladaba a las grandes ciudades, al asfalto, a los supermercados. No había sol abrasador, sino fluorescentes y neón, chándales mezclados con brilli-brilli y desenfado ado.

Los editoriales de moda llevaban tiempo anhelando aquel baile pasado. O, mejor dicho, los estilistas ya lo estaban vaticinando. Una tendencia con sabor a joven descaro. A inconformismo, a deslocalización e incertidumbre de futuro cercano. Chavales cosmopolitas que ven cómo su avanzada sociedad es víctima de un ciberataque que incluso tiene nombre propio: “ransomware”. Jóvenes que, en tantos momentos, desearán montarse en su caballo, colocarse el sombrero cowboy y partir hacia montañas lejanas. Un galope hacia lo rural, hacia lo analógico, ¿hacia la verdad? “We don’t WannaCry”.
